National track titles for Shari Bossuyt (Belgium) and Daniela Reis (Portugal)
Last weekend has been a busy weekend for some of our girls. On Saturday, Shari Bossuyt formed a team with Noa Selosse and together they won the national madison championships!
Over at Portugal, Daniela Reis also participated in the national track cycling championships. She managed to grab no less then three medals: a bronze one in the scratch race, a golden one in the individual pursuit and a golden one in the points race, together with the joining national championships jerseys!
Third and ninth place for Bryony over at the USA
Meanwhile on the other side of the world, Bryony Van Velzen has been racing at the USA. She made it a double weekend, with races on both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, she participated in the Santa Barbara County Road Race, a tough race on a hilly course. Due to some sudden digestive problems that started halfway throughout the race, she lost some strength but still managed to finish ninth.
On Sunday, she raced the Carlos Soto Memorial Criterium at Goleta. The race ended in a bunch sprint, in which she sprinted to a great third place! Afterwards, she also participated in the men’s race as an additional training.
